Construction on Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland began in early 1966, and opened March 18, 1967. Three months after Walt Disney passed away in December of 1966.

Note: During the off seasons, the firework show is on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 or 9:30, depending on the time of year. During the busy seasons, fireworks are usually nightly at the same times and I’m very sorry if I am wrong about the times, and if anyone wants to correct me, lemme know!
If so, SIGN THE PETITION to keep it from being destroyed! There are currently plans to replace the Carnation Plaza Gardens with an extension of Fantasyland where people can meet & greet with princesses.
I love me some princess time as much as the next person, but getting ride of the Carnation Plaza is like getting rid of a big chunk of history!

Back in the mid 80’s til the early 90’s, there was a half sunken boat in the water right before the Jungle Cruise unload area. Main Street Window - Roland F. Crump (Dec. 28, 2011)
Just incase you didn’t know, the second and third story windows on Main Street contain the names of people instrumental in the creation and continued development of Disneyland.
Roland “Rolly” Crump is well known for his hand in The Haunted Mansion, The Enchanted Tiki Room, and It’s a Small World’s famous clock tower. His sketches are featured on the tarot cards - from left to right: Tiki God sketch, Tower of the Four Winds, and Museum of the Weird (which was never built) coffin clock concept.
