Construction on Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland began in early 1966, and opened March 18, 1967. Three months after Walt Disney passed away in December of 1966.
Have you ever wanted to watch the Disneyland fireworks LIVE from your computer at home? Or maybe you have just missed the Happiest Place on Earth that you wanted to see a live video feed of the Matterhorn from home? Well thanks to the Howard Johnson in Anaheim, you can! Just click on the link and enjoy!!
Note: During the off seasons, the firework show is on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 or 9:30, depending on the time of year. During the busy seasons, fireworks are usually nightly at the same times and I’m very sorry if I am wrong about the times, and if anyone wants to correct me, lemme know!
This was changed not long after, because when merchandise would be sold on the island, the sales tax would be different than it would be to the rest of the park due to the different zip code, and the paper work just came to be too much.
Nature’s Wonderland featured various animatronics, like bears, fish, and mountain lions. Some of them were stripped and used for other attractions, but most of them were buried under what is now Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland.
This is because the highest railings are hardest to reach, and if they were to rust, it would be too difficult for the employees to get up there and clean, and this way they don’t need to pay anyone to take care of that problem for them!
This has already been explained by the beautiful Ryan Gosling, but the cats moved in shortly after the park opened in 1955, and are free to roam around the parks and take care of any rodents there may be (there’s only room for 2 mice in this park) There are feeding stations and makeshift homes for these felines over by Big Thunder Ranch, which is where you will usually find them prowling around throughout the day! Disney cares for them, and spays/neuters any that need to be, and if a kitten is found within the bunch, they are given up for adoption!
